I Want Your Sex: Laughing At Victims Of Sexual Abuse

Summary: Harvey Whinstein but a woman.

So whilst there are a few funny moments in the film, and the anti woke commentary is pretty on point there is a massive glaring issue with the film.

Olivia Wilde’s character is a rapist, she records the guy without his consent, pushes him into sexual situations he doesn’t want to be in and does sexual things to him he doesn’t want. Yet at the end of the film rather than having her go to prison, the victim is shown to still be pining for her.

Once again abuse against men is turned into a joke and not a serious problem. Ask yourself if this was a film about a man doing this to a woman would it either a get made or b not be immediately cancelled.

The film is also needlessly graphic and at times it will make you deeply uncomfortable so be prepared for that.

Overall, a film that laughs at male sexual abuse.

1/5

Pros.

The anti woke commentary

Cons.

Laughing at male abuse

Having Wilde’s character get away with it
